This is true love

Nothing is better than the unconditional love of a dog.
Since Madison was born Kali hasn't wanted to leave her side (except when she wants to sleep).
Madison won't go to bed at night unless Kali is sleeping by her feet.
It really is the sweetest thing.

trouble

I don't know how other moms do it, I have such a problem saying no to Madison, she's just so darn cute and sweet. She totally knows how to work the system. Now that she knows how to say please and thank you I find it even harder to deny her something. She'll just keep getting closer and closer to my face, "I want more ice cream, please, Please, PLEEEAASSSE." She has that look, the one that say "I know you're going to give in eventually so you might as well do it sooner than later." How did my 2 year old get so stinking smart?! It scares me just a little bit. I was hoping that Tony would be the tough one, I was hoping I'd get to be the mom that could always say, "Go ask you father." Knowing that he'd say no, making him the bad guy. Unfortunately Mad has him wrapped pretty tight around her finger.
We're in big trouble!!!

Mad's new do

Madison won't ever let me put anything in her hair, I can barely get it brushed most days so I decided until she wants barrettes and ponytails, she's getting a bob. And boy does she look so CUTE!!!!
I know I'm a little bias and all but seriously, that kid just melts my heart.
Usually she's a little peach when getting her hair cut but not today. She threw a huge fit and we pretty much had to hold her down the whole time. I feel really bad for those poor people at Kid's Hair. But they're used to it I suppose.

Baby B update

Since I got the birth story out of the way I figure I should update on Brynn now.
She's 11 weeks old, at her two month appointment she weighted 11.2 lbs and was 21 inches long. Pretty much exactly the same as Madison at that age. We'll see if Brynn falls off the charts after that too.

Brynn is smiling and talking lots these days, I love when they become more interactive. I love snuggly little babies but I'm a much bigger fan of when I can actually talk to them and get a response. Little baby giggles are the best!

She rolled over on me twice a few weeks ago, she hasn't done it since but she gets really close. She's really strong and loves to stand up and see the world. We're gonna be in trouble with this one I believe.

She started sleeping from 10 pm-7:30 am at 2 months and hasn't stopped since, she's so good and such an easy baby. I thought Madison was an easy baby but Brynn puts her to shame. I keep wondering when they are going to become devil children.
Probably when they are teenagers.

Welcome to the world, Brynn Avery

OK, so I'm jumping back on the blogging train.... or I'm going to try anyways, no promises that I'll have the time or motivation to keep it that up to date. I'm very impressed with all you moms that can do this on a regular basis. Anyways,

It's been a busy start to 2010.

Brynn Avery Kutzke entered the world November 19, 2009 at 4:10 pm. She weighed 7 lbs 2 oz (exactly the same as her big sis, Mad) and 18 inches long, although at her appointment a few days later she was 19 inches long so she either grows REALLY fast or they didn't really stretch her out on her birth day.

The labor was a lot different than what I experienced with Madison. I only labored for a few hours with Madison, pushed for an hour, and then she was here. Much quicker than I ever expected.

Brynn I felt like I was laboring for days, she was born on a Thursday, and I was having contractions since Sunday. Maybe just because I knew what contractions were I could identify what was going on but it was pretty annoying.

Short story is, I got to the hospital at 1:30, my midwife broke my water at 3:30, I pushed 2 or 3 times and she was here. I actually got to deliver my own baby, I reached down and pulled her out and onto my chest, it was amazing and magical.

She's been a champion sleeper and feeder since day one. Since birth she routinely sleeps 3-4 hours straight and it has only gotten better.

My greatest fear was breastfeeding since Mad and I couldn't ever get the hang of it. But Brynn quieted those fears almost immediately.

I was really bummed that Madison couldn't come visit us in the hospital because of all the H1N1 stuff. But I was allowed to go home after 24 hours so it ended up not being that bad. Madison mostly ignores her little sister since all she does is sleep and eat but she does help me with diapers and her Nuk. Once Brynn gets more interactive I believe she'll be a very amazing big sister.

I never thought I'd have 2 little girls, but I adore them so much.... it's amazing how much love one person can have. I can't imagine life without them.
